Inspiration

Current NFTs have many drawbacks, such as:

  • Over speculation, NFTs are heavily used for speculating, not actually solve users' problems
  • Access control NFTs increased frictions for users since they need to purchase the NFT elsewhere to access something

EarlySongs, utilised interesting concept of EIP5023 Shareable Soulbound NFT, to create a fair and decentralised for artists to grow their loyal fan and capture more values from their early released songs.

What it does

  • Create and release song: Create a new released song, with limited number of mintable NFT for fans that want early access
  • Sharable and non-transferrable NFT: Once the available public day passed, everyone is free to share NFT with their friends, families, etc, ..., which reduces the new song's adoption and leverages network effects to grow the popularity of the new released song.

How we built it

  • FrontEnd: NextJS, Typescript, SASS
  • Smart Contracts: Hardhat, Fantom Testnet,
  • Libraries: Web3.storage, wagmi, web3Modal

Challenges we ran into

  • Designed and implemented ERC5023 contract
