Inspiration

The Lilly Dale regional park by the banks of the mighty Mississippi, floods frequently with a high dominance of floodplains in restorative ecology, part of the water and land management for ecological management needs newer flood prediction and IoT models.

What it does

We introduce several provable ML models using sensor fusion from carbon cloth based sensors using the TOMU for IoT and the Echo Flex for cloud and grid integration.

How we built it

Tomu integrates level sensors and 3 dof accelerometers on a sensor grid, with an alexa skill and lambda to upload data to S3. A RCNN network is used with sagemaker for predictive analytics.

Challenges we ran into

Did not receive access to sagemaker studio lab, leading to just the architecture and conference publication video, submission, lacking a demo and deployment.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A publication in WCDM 2021

What we learned

The echo flex, though not designed for outdoor conditions, does adopt to a scalable IoT sensor grid, extremely cost effective, and easily deployed on grid.

What's next for Early Bird Warning Systems, for DRR

Access to sagemaker studio, to complete the proposed architecture.
