Inspiration
Our inspiration was one of our teammates, Jack, had a planned walk with his grandmother, as she is suffering from Alzheimer's. We wanted to create a platform that could connect students like Jack with other elders in the community
What it does
Our website allows Elders to create a profile with their age, available meeting times, and what they are looking for in a student volunteer, whether its helping someone mow their lawn, or having someone to talk to.
How we built it
We built it using html/css and organized it to clearly help elders find their way across website.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a few problems with the APIs, as we didn't fully figure out how to implement those into our project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the way the website is structured, as it presents a BC theme. Along with the theme, we are also proud of our mission, and our delivery with the website.
What we learned
We learned there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to projects.
What's next for Eagles for Elders
We hope to expand upon this idea, and hope to make a change in our local community once we fully implement an API.
