Inspiration

Civic information today is fragmented, difficult to access, and often overwhelming for everyday users. Many citizens struggle to find reliable details about their representatives, local issues, and public services.

EagleReach was built to solve this problem by creating a unified, accessible platform that bridges the gap between U.S. citizens and their government. The goal is simple: make civic engagement easier, faster, and more transparent through technology.

What it does

EagleReach is a fully deployed civic intelligence platform that provides real-time, location-based civic information.

Users can:

  • Enter a ZIP code to instantly find federal and local representatives
  • Access real-time local and global news
  • View a 7-day weather forecast
  • Get emergency service information (911, 988, etc.)
  • Discover civic resources and updates
  • Generate structured reports and email drafts to communicate with officials

This transforms complex civic data into a simple, actionable experience.

What’s new

Fully deployed and publicly accessible live application
Integrated real-time APIs (U.S. Census, Weather, News)
Location-based intelligence via ZIP code
Improved UI/UX and performance
End-to-end cloud deployment with CI/CD

How I built it

EagleReach is a full-stack system designed for scalability and real-world use.

Frontend

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript (responsive UI)

Backend

  • FastAPI (Python)
  • RESTful API architecture

APIs & Data Sources

  • U.S. Census API (geolocation & districts)
  • OpenWeather API (weather forecasts)
  • Google News RSS (news aggregation)

Cloud & DevOps

  • Frontend hosted on GitHub Pages
  • Backend deployed on Render
  • CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions
