Inspiration

A need for more discrete and performant security at schools and private security domestically and abroad.

What it does

With Eagle Eye, companies, education centers, etc., can set up a list of permitted users through a database by sending pictures via the cloud. Our python software powered by AI will identify the correct persons and signal intruders.

How we built it

To build our UI (User-Interface), we used the popular framework React.js and CSS styles to make the experience the most user-friendly possible. Following that, we used an already well-established face recognition model. We adjusted it so it could acquire data from our cloud database without the requirement to load pictures manually and made modifications to the visual interface.

Challenges we ran into

Our team's main challenge was to set up the connection between our Python app and our Firebase database. We resolved this issue by reading about the different services and decided to stick to a real-time database model and use Pyrebase, a useful firebase wrapper for Python.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to see how accurate the ai face recognition deals with our live feed with an almost 100% accuracy rate.

What we learned

Each member of the team learned new things such as how to work with AI models, Firebase, React.JS, etc.

What's next for Eagle Eye

We hope Eagle Eye can be used by companies and schools for discrete private event security in the future.
