E3: Enlightened Earthly Efforts
Inspiration E3 was born from something I kept seeing everywhere: people genuinely care about the planet - but they feel overwhelmed and unsure how to help. Climate change feels massive. Apps keep telling people to “track their footprint” or “buy eco products,” but almost nothing helps people take real daily action. I realized the biggest climate problem isn’t lack of awareness - it’s lack of support for behavior change. People don’t need guilt. They don’t need perfection. They just need a way to take small steps that feel achievable.
So I built E3 (Enlightened Earthly Efforts) with a simple belief: Small actions × millions of people = massive impact.
What E3 Does E3 is a sustainability app that turns micro-actions into real climate impact. Helps people build earth-friendly habits one step at a time Tracks progress in CO₂ avoided, water saved, waste reduced Connects users to local compost hubs, refill stations, and repair cafés Builds community accountability, so people don’t give up Makes sustainability simple, accessible, and hopeful
How I Built It I designed E3 as a Figma-first interactive prototype. Instead of jumping straight into code, I focused on designing something people would actually use. I started by researching why people fail at sustainability goals. The answer? Overwhelm. So I designed the product with micro-actions and habit science in mind. From there, I built the Living Earth UI System - a dark, glowing, nature-inspired interface using accessible colors and clean typography.
I prototyped: Home Page with personalized greeting Impact dashboard Local Action Map - to locate nearest - compost hub, refill station, or repair cafe Community Accountability Forum - A place for users to connect with questions or join challenges Every screen was designed to feel calm, encouraging, and emotionally supportive. Sustainability shouldn’t feel like shame or sacrifice. It should feel grounded, connected, and human.
What I Learned This project taught me that: Climate action has to feel achievable - or it won’t happen People stick to habits when they feel supported - not judged Design has emotional power - E3 uses hope-powered UX Real sustainability must be inclusive by design - not only for people with money, time, or privilege (especially since marginalized communities are most impacted by climate change)
Challenges Some challenges I faced: Making sustainability feel simple instead of overwhelming Avoiding fear-based climate messaging Designing a habit system that actually works Staying away from greenwashing - impact must be trackable and real Keeping visuals beautiful without sacrificing accessibility
Why This Matters The climate crisis needs action - not just awareness. But action won’t come from forcing perfection. It comes from millions of people doing small things, together. E3 rewrites the sustainability experience. It’s not about eco-aesthetics. It’s about behavior change at scale.
Earth doesn’t need heroes. It needs good humans doing their best - every day.
