E-Voting using Blockchain

Inspiration

Blockchain’s decentralized nature increases trust of everyone involved in the elections on the system. To find a solution to E-voting security problems with the use of blockchain technology, security is not compromised.

What it does: Provides a way to caste votes online in a more secure way with the use of blockchain

Transactions are performed to caste a vote: Such that if a voter wants a caste a vote to the candidate, he/she has to transfer a coin to that account.

How we built it

Used Remix IDE for writing the smart contracts, used metamask as a wallet, ganache local to test the deployed smart contracts on our local system,html for the voter interface, MySQL to store the details of the candidate participating in the elections.

Challenges we ran into

Deploying the smart contracts on the website and keeping the the track of the accounts associated.

What's next for E-Voting using Blockchain

Expanding it in such a way that, it can be used in any elections with minimal modifications and setup. Making it able to work with a large number of users.
