Inspiration

Due to the difficult times of exceptionality, and considering the hard times families are having teaching their children, our objective is to give innovative resources, focused in primary and secondary school using new technologies.

THE PROBLEM OUR PROJECT SOLVES During this quarantine we have realized that there is a big problem with remote education. Since we are students we can talk about our experience and that of our friends and family. We see that there is a great difficulty with the communication between teachers and students because the students have difficulties solving their problems or doubts that may arise. The teachers are in charge of the subject, and there are times when they have difficulty in dealing with the online classes, and giving personal attention. This is due to the difficulties caused by COVID-19, since the only learning method that students have is through worksheets, assignments or videos. We already know that in some cases live classes are given by video call, but as we already know from experience, it is a little complicated to be able to learn communicating between so many people and without any order, especially in early ages. On the other hand, some parents do not have the ability to fulfill the needs required to teach their children. This is due to two factors; they do not have the specific knowledge required since they are not specialized in it and also they do not have enough time since they are working remotely and have to comply with a certain schedule.

What it does

Analyzing this situation, we see an opportunity to improve and solve the problem. To do this, we have thought of creating a platform where students have the option of being able to solve their doubts with students from higher courses who already have that knowledge. On this platform, teachers will upload the material to be used by the students. In case they need help, they will have the option to have classmates who have already done the work or students from higher courses who are good at that subject to help them. In this way we want to create a community that promotes cooperativism in education, thus instilling essential values for us that are based on acquiring mutual knowledge and helping others.

THE SOLUTION WE BRING TO THE TABLE Analyzing this situation, we see an opportunity to improve and solve the problem. WHAT WE HAVE DONE DURING THE WEEKEND

First of all, the members of the team we watched the live show where they explained us how were going to be this three days. The first step was to read all the information and understand the challenge. After that, we set up the team management, and once that task was completed we started doing a brainstorming where a lot of ideas came out. After doing that work, we define and develop the problem, we searched for possible solutions and we developed conceptual framework for these solutions. As a result of all the information we had, we move on to the prototyping creation. Finally we defined next steps and we prepared the pitch to present our project.

THE SOLUTION’S IMPACT TO THE CRISIS

We want to achieve different impacts with this project. The first one is to develop strong peer-to-peer schooling community. We also want to democratize education, empower students, support subject matter understanding and teamwork. Another aspects we want to achieve is to facilitate online school material and at the same time provide online school material. At last, we want to help parents and teachers from stress and frustration

THE NECESSITIES IN ORDER TO CONTINUE THE PROJECT At first sight we have analyze that we need some necessities to continue with the project. The first one is to search partners. Beside that, identify sustainable financing resources. Also we would develop and further enhancing the web/app. Another this would be to build the support the team and finally spread the word about the platform.

THE VALUE OF OUR SOLUTION(S) AFTER THE CRISIS It would continue working perfectly and normally because after the coronavirus this platform would be an added tool to connect different students in a fast way to solve doubts and learn. It will also serve for any emergency situation in which we have to confine ourselves and have a similar problem again.
