Dzidzo EduTech: AR/VR-Powered Education for Africa

Reimagining Learning Through Immersive Technology

Growing up in Zimbabwe, we experienced firsthand the challenges of accessing quality education—especially in rural and underserved areas. Outdated textbooks, chalkboards, and limited resources were the norm, yet the spark of curiosity and potential in African classrooms was undeniable.

Dzidzo EduTech was born from a powerful question: What if we could merge technology with education to make learning immersive, interactive, and accessible to every student—no matter where they are?

Today, Dzidzo is turning that vision into reality. Using Augmented and Virtual Reality, we’re transforming traditional classrooms into virtual labs, interactive history lessons, and 3D math explorations, allowing students to learn by seeing, touching, and experiencing knowledge like never before.

Our Mission

At Dzidzo, we believe education should close the gap, not widen it. Our mission is to:

  • Empower learners with hands-on, engaging educational experiences.
  • Support teachers with powerful tools to manage classrooms and track progress.
  • Deliver scalable technology optimized for low-resource environments across Africa.

Our Journey

From concept to pilot testing, Dzidzo EduTech has been a journey of innovation, collaboration, and overcoming challenges:

  • Prototyping AR/VR experiences using Unity 3D, Vuforia, and custom 3D models to bring science and history to life.
  • Designing a role-based school management system for admins, teachers, and students.
  • Tackling technical challenges like database virtualization, UI/UX for young learners, and ensuring performance on low-end devices.
  • Piloting Dzidzo in rural schools where students experienced virtual science labs for the first time, with overwhelming positive feedback from both teachers and students.

One teacher shared:

“For the first time, my students could ‘touch’ the inside of a cell without needing a microscope.”

This is just the beginning. We’re continuously improving Dzidzo to make immersive learning available to millions of students across Africa.
