Inspiration

Students today often choose careers based on marks, trends, parental pressure, or generic aptitude tests without truly understanding what those careers feel like in the real world. Many students later realize that the career they chose does not match their interests, personality, strengths, or working style.

Most existing career guidance platforms focus only on recommending careers instead of helping students actually experience them.

We wanted to solve this gap by building something immersive, practical, and engaging. That idea became CareerVerse โ€” an AI-powered career ecosystem where students can simulate real jobs, join challenges, practice interviews, build portfolios, connect with mentors, and discover opportunities before entering the industry.

What it does

CareerVerse is an AI-powered immersive career exploration and professional growth platform that combines:

๐Ÿš€ Forage-style career simulations ๐Ÿ† Unstop-style competitions ๐Ÿ“ Devpost-style project showcases ๐Ÿ‘ฅ LinkedIn-style professional growth

into one gamified ecosystem.

Students can:

experience realistic workplace simulations practice AI-powered mock interviews join multiplayer career challenges build recruiter-ready portfolios connect with mentors discover internships, hackathons, and jobs showcase achievements publicly

Instead of relying on quizzes or theoretical recommendations, CareerVerse helps students actively experience careers through communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making.

How we built it

We built CareerVerse using MeDo as our AI-powered full-stack development environment. Using MeDo, we rapidly created:

responsive multi-page application workflows immersive dashboards gamified simulation systems AI interview experiences portfolio generation systems mentor systems opportunity discovery pages community feeds

A major part of development involved prompt engineering and iterative refinement. Initially, many workflows felt too much like quizzes or MCQ systems, so we redesigned simulations multiple times to create realistic workplace experiences instead of traditional assessments.

We focused heavily on:

immersive simulation design adaptive workflows realistic scoring systems cinematic UI experiences meaningful interactions gamified progression systems

We also implemented dynamic scoring logic, AI interview workflows, portfolio generation systems, XP progression, and localStorage persistence for better user engagement.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was removing the โ€œquiz platformโ€ feeling. Initially, many parts of the platform relied heavily on MCQs and static interactions. We redesigned the system to ensure users felt like they were actually:

working collaborating communicating presenting solving real-world problems

Another major challenge was balancing realism, gamification, usability, and clean UI design. Since CareerVerse combines simulations, mentorship, interviews, portfolios, competitions, and community systems, the interface initially became cluttered.

We spent significant time redesigning dashboards, workflows, layouts, and interaction systems to create a cleaner and more immersive experience.

Accomplishments we're proud of

We are proud that CareerVerse evolved far beyond a traditional career guidance platform.

Some accomplishments we are especially proud of include:

creating immersive non-MCQ career simulations building AI-powered voice interview experiences designing multiplayer challenge ecosystems inspired by real hackathons converting simulations into recruiter-visible proof-of-work combining mentorship, opportunities, portfolios, and career exploration into one ecosystem designing a highly interactive cinematic UI experience

Most importantly, CareerVerse feels experiential rather than theoretical. Students do not just learn about careers โ€” they actively experience them.

What we learned

Building CareerVerse taught us:

how powerful AI-assisted development can be how important iterative UX refinement is how immersive interactions improve engagement how difficult it is to balance realism with simplicity

We also learned that students value practical exposure, confidence-building, and proof-of-skill far more than generic recommendations.

This project helped us better understand product design, interactive simulation systems, career-tech ecosystems, and AI-powered user experiences.

What's next

We plan to evolve CareerVerse into a fully AI-powered professional growth ecosystem.

Future plans include:

real AI-powered interview systems live multiplayer collaboration recruiter onboarding adaptive AI career coaching emotional intelligence tracking VR/AR career labs personalized AI-generated roadmaps real hiring integrations

Our long-term goal is to create a platform where students can confidently explore careers, practice real work, build proof-of-skill, and grow professionally through experience rather than guesswork.
