Inspiration

We were inspired from the 2 draft ideas we had, which we expanded more in the presentation.

What it does

It's a pair of glasses that detect words which you are struggling to read or understand and either reads it out for you through an earpiece attached to the glasses, or visually shows them to you through the glasses lens, to reduce struggles encountered by dyslexic people and help them connect to the society more.

How we built it

We haven't build the actual product, but we used canva to create a presentation.

Challenges we ran into

We realised that many of our ideas we were proud to have thought of were already invented, which of course is good that people were able to live a comfortable life, but at the same time made it difficult to think of an original idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we were able to think of a unique idea that dyslexic people actually want (which we found out through interviews) and that we were able to propose it through this hackathon.

What we learned

We learnt that a lot of the time people who encounter certain problems are the ones who have the best ideas as they know what they want and just require someone to invent it.

What's next for Dys-tech glasses

We believe that this product will be a huge contribution to the society especially for dyslexic people so being able to produce this product with the help from the technological side will be our next step.
