Inspiration
Traditional CAPTCHA systems are becoming easier for bots to solve. We wanted to build a more secure and dynamic image-based CAPTCHA system that changes every time using randomly placed images.
What it does
The project generates a dynamic CAPTCHA image by randomly placing multiple small images onto a large image. The number, position, and arrangement of images change every time, making the CAPTCHA unique and harder for bots to predict or solve.
How we built it
We built the project using Python and image-processing libraries. A custom Python server automatically generates CAPTCHA images in real time. The system randomly selects small images, places them at random positions on a larger image, and creates a new CAPTCHA for every request.
Technologies used:
Python
Pillow (PIL)
Random module
Custom Python server
Challenges we ran into
Preventing image overlap
Generating random but readable CAPTCHA patterns
Managing image placement dynamically
Making the system secure while keeping it user-friendly
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a fully working dynamic image-based CAPTCHA system
Implemented random image generation successfully
Created a lightweight and unique CAPTCHA approach using Python
What we learned
We learned about image processing, randomization techniques, CAPTCHA security concepts, and real-time image generation using Python.
What's next for Dynamic CAPTCHA System
Add more advanced image randomization
Improve bot resistance using AI-based detection
Add interactive CAPTCHA features
Optimize the system for web integration and scalability
