Inspiration
Our inspiration was the app, Robinhood, and the difficulty a few of us had with the usage of stocks. In order to better understand stocks and the stock market, we built our project around the stock market.
What it does
The user inputs a stock they would like to know more about and out intelligent algorithm retrieves information about the stock, the past stock value, wether the stock is bullish or bearish, and wether to invest in it or to sell it.
How we built it
For the frontend, we used HTML,CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. We used bootstrap, materialize, and animate as packages to assist in the front end. For the backend, we used Node.js, IBM Watson, For design, we used Adobe Photoshop
Challenges we ran into
We had lots of issues finding a free database that gave us the information we needed to run our program. We also had a hard time understanding the stock market at first.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This was our first time using IBM Watson, but we were able to utilize it's AI
What we learned
We learned the power of IBM Watson.
