dwnhll solves a problem encountered by anyone who commutes on wheels: mapping applications don't take into account elevation. As a longboarder, it is incredibly frustrating to find commuting directions that take me straight up a hill when I could go around it.
dwnhll solves this by providing an optimal route for a skateboarder in a clean, minimalist interface. It operates as a web service; the underlying logic can be called by any external application. An Android client is currently under development. By using MongoDB to cache routes, efficiency can be preserved and an optimal user experience is provided.
