Personal Story

I visited Karachi. I felt alone. I was alone in the sea of people. I wanted to talk to someone instantly. I so badly wished to stumble across a like minded stranger. I thought I was crazy. But then I shared this feeling on my Instagram with a survey. More than 80% validated this feeling by voting that they have made multiple friends out of internet strangers when they have felt alone. This pushed me to solve this loneliness problem.

Why not Tinder, Bumble or Instagram?

Loneliness can be terrifying. A real conversation is a blessing in the present digital world. But how to have this real conversation online? Instagram has become a hoax social makeup. Tinder is loaded with fake profiles. Bumble requires so much effort to setup an aesthetic profile. And all these channels have pictures which serve as first level of selection/rejection. This is bad for mental health of less cherished profiles and introverts who are not as expressive as the mainstream.

Research

The wireframes showed in the YouTube video have been shown to 40 potential users so far - and it has been received with great curiosity and approval. The idea of bases (base 1, base 2) came from one user.

Nothing has been done without taking user input. The idee was validated by users, as shared above. All wireframes were shown to potential users. Very happy that we are starting this from human centered design perspective.
