Inspiration

At my first hackathon, my friends and I were trying to code agentically using AI. However, we soon realized that that wasn't currently possible. That's why I built Duplex.

What it does

Duplex allows you and your team to connect to one shared repository and collaborate using multiple agents, all working together from any provider.

How we built it

I built it using agentic tools, and it runs on a Next.js TypeScript framework and uses Supabase for the database.

Challenges we ran into

The MCP server that agents connected to was the hardest problem. There were many bugs within the agents setting their own status and agents talking with one another. Honestly, the framework that allows all the agents to connect and communicate was the hardest part of this challenge, and I'm glad that I was able to finally pull it off in the end. There were so many roadblocks that I ran into, and I'm just glad that I was able to get even a working project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to build an actual real app that anyone can use now. I thought that I might only be able to build a demo or maybe a half-baked MVP, but I'm proud of myself for building an actual app that you can connect to right now and start building with your team.

What we learned

I learned that collaboration is one of the most helpful tools when building an app. There were so many bugs and other issues that I could not have found without the help of others at Dublin Hacks. So many people asked questions about my app that I couldn't answer and found errors that I needed to solve.

What's next for Duplex

I hope that after this hackathon, I continue to scale Duplex and gain real users. There were many features that I could not have added within this time frame, and I hope to bring those in the future. The biggest add-on that I would want to have is, of course, human and agentic collaboration, so that humans can also work alongside the many agents.
