Primary award: Gaming — Mr Lewis Blogs Gaming
Duo Queue is entering the Gaming Influencer Award — Mr Lewis Blogs Gaming. It helps people carry game discoveries from videos into an evening of play: save the source, exchange a list with a friend, see which games overlap and choose what to play together.
Inspiration
A game looks great in a video, then disappears into the feed. Friends may have the same game on their lists without remembering it when they finally have an evening to play. Duo Queue connects those two moments.
What it does
Save game titles and source links from the iOS share sheet, or type a title yourself. Link titles and preview images help you recognize saved pages. Tonight shows games in progress and up to three next choices.
Send your list as a small .duoqueue file through Messages or AirDrop. Open a friend's file to see shared games first, link differently named entries that refer to the same game, and choose individually which games to add to your own shelf. No account or public profile is required.
A simple picker considers available time, mood and whether you are playing alone or together. Finish a game or set it aside, then leave optional stars, moods and one sentence. Make a sharing card using original art and your words. There are no streaks, overdue reminders or playtime tracking.
How we built it
Native Swift 6, SwiftUI and SwiftData, a Share Extension with an App Group inbox, deterministic title normalization and original abstract cover patterns. Apple LinkPresentation retrieves metadata for URLs added by the user. RevenueCat manages a lifetime non-consumable unlock, entitlement updates and restoration. Apple supplies the offer-code redemption sheet.
Challenges and what we learned
A useful comparison must distinguish the same game under different names without silently merging unrelated entries. Portable files also need clear boundaries: opening a friend's list must not automatically change your own. We made overlap visible first and additions explicit. The useful end of a backlog is choosing a game, not collecting a larger number.
Accomplishments
The app connects capture, personal organization, friend comparison and a small decision for tonight. Finishing and dropping are both normal endings, with optional reflection rather than pressure to complete everything.
Influencer award fit
Gaming — Mr Lewis Blogs Gaming. Duo Queue serves people who discover games through videos and want an enjoyable gaming bucket list. It makes saving immediate and turns organization, completion, rating and sharing into a path toward playing together. This entry does not claim the influencer's endorsement.
Purchases and privacy
An interactive fictional sample precedes one lifetime purchase. No subscription, app account or ads. Game lists and notes are stored locally. Fetching a user-added link preview contacts its source; preview images are cached on the device. Source URLs are excluded from list exports by default, and fetched thumbnails are excluded from exports and sharing cards. Apple handles payments; RevenueCat uses anonymous purchase information for access and purchase analytics. Game titles and notes are not sent to RevenueCat. Restore Purchases and official Apple invite-code redemption are available.
What is next
Version 1.0 and the lifetime IAP have been submitted to Apple. Public release, the demo video and genuine free judge access will complete this entry. After release, the focus is improving title matching and the moments where friends choose what to play.
