Inspiration

I was inspired by the walkman I had as a kid, and how it was a fun tactile experience to listen to music. In music apps these days it's convenient to listen to music, but the tactility and fun is missing. The dual screen of the Duo provides a perfect playful experience to bring back the walkman.

What it does

The Duo-Man is a music player with a traditional look and feel and the simplicity of the walkman, you pick and album, close the duo start listening to the music. Open it to change the cassette tape and pick your album of your choice.

The Duo-Man is also peppered with modern features like AI recommendations that offer smart recommendations based on what you listen. you can subscribe to AI recommendations for $0.99 a month.

How we built it

I built it using the Bitrig app, and Bitrig simulator.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges were primarily around creating a picture perfect visual interaction, sound and managing different modes and making sure the app looks great in all of them.
