This was a project which I worked on for the Hack UVA hackathon. While it did not win a prize, it was accepted by many people as an entertaining utilization of various hardware.
The hack was a very simple application which was developed using the Unity 3d engine. While I borrowed a map and some scripting from previous hackers, there were several aspects which I added personally. The application used an Occulus Rift VR headset, and the Myo motion sensor. It allowed users to look and move about a three dimensional environment, with the VR headset and keyboard. Furthermore, the application contained a wand which the user moved, and aimed simply by moving their arm, and twisting their wrist with the help of the Myo. Additionally, users could flick their wrist (much as a powerful spellcaster might) and project a fireball from the tip of the wand which would knock over various objects in the environment.
I enjoyed working on this project, because I had the experience to work with technology which I had previously never experienced.
