Inspiration

Have you ever been to someplace and have a strong desire to get out of there? I am sure most people can relate, so I was inspired to create an app that would help people in this kind of situation.

What it does

The main purpose of the app is to call the user after he/she/them has sent a request to do so. It can be used in different situations, for example, on blind dates. The user can pretend that something suddenly happened and he/she/them needs to leave. The user also can send a default message and his location to one of his contacts by clicking the notification icon. It is helpful in some situations when there is no time to message someone. It can be used to notify one of the friends or members of a family that the user is probably in danger.

How we built it

I used uizard.io to create a prototype and show how the app should look. I also coded a web using HTML and CSS on QOOM to present my project idea. Other than that, I used C++ to create an exe file

Challenges we ran into

I can not deny the fact that building a project from scratch when you have a limited time is a bit stressful experience. But thanks to mentors and organizers I managed to finish what I intended to.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am really proud of the name. It comes from the phrase "Did you call?". The app just acts like the user receives a call, so it is KIND OF a calling application. So, the final name is Did yoU (K)call? "Dukall"

What we learned

I have zero experience in creating a web, but thanks to different workshops on SuperPOSITRON Hackathon event I had a chance to receive knowledge from great people! I have learned the basics of HTML, CSS, and I also learned about different tools to be a better coder!

What's next for Dukall

Since the project that I am uploading here is a draft, the next step for me is to create an actual application.
