Inspiration

Being baseball lovers in a country where people barely know about the sport, we always longed for a platform that could help us enjoy and be part of the sport that we truly like and admire. By the dint of Google's commitment and collaboration with MLB, this is finally possible for us.

What it does

PlayPitch is an all-in-one software tool leveraging the power of machine learning and data analysis to the fullest coupled with vibrant graphics to enable us to be able to provide customized highlights and summaries to users without having them rely on the same old fashioned summary systems.

How we built it

We made full use of Google's AI and developer tools to provide the best user experience via PlayPitch. We made use of Google's Angular framework for frontend development and Node JS for backend implementation. We made use of Google Colab notebooks for Data Analysis and fetching and analysis of data based on the MLB APIs. Finally, we are leveraging the full power of Gemini to provide customized summary to users in a way that has been seen before.

Challenges we ran into

The major challenges have been scaling this major data and providing a latency free user experience to each one of our user based on their respective choices and patterns of judgements.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're truly proud of what we have built using out collective intelligence and passion for the sport, we have built a platform that's not just technically sound but also provides a catchy interface with minimalistic latency levels.

What we learned

This project was an interesting learning journey from exploring the angular framework to working on several AI models and also Google's Vertex AI platform was a great experience overall.

What's next for PlayPitch

We intend to implement a real-time chat feature moderated by community notes, for fans to discuss their teams and also to make new friends based on the sport that they truly admire.
