Inspiration
We were inspired by the desire to push productivity beyond ordinary habits. Deadlines often encourage procrastination, so we asked ourselves: what if we could make work feel competitive and energizing? That drive for aggressive productivity led us to design a platform where rivalry fuels focus, turning everyday tasks into challenges worth winning.
What it does
Our platform boosts productivity by turning deadlines into friendly competition. Instead of racing against time, people race against a rival, motivating them to complete tasks proactively. This gamified approach works everywhere from universities to workplaces transforming routine responsibilities into engaging challenges that inspire focus, consistency, and achievement.
How we built it
3 of our teammates worked on the frontend and for the frontend we used HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We turned the JavaScript into express.js to make sure that the UI, and all functionalities rubs smoothly. The teammates working on the backend made sure that everything is connected together and checked if every single data is stored perfectly into the database. For the data storage we used Mongodb and Mongodb compass for database management. Overall with this frontend and backend structure we feel pretty confident on how it turned out in the end.
Challenges
We faced several challenges during this hackathon. Setting up the backend environment and ensuring smooth integration with the frontend took longer than expected. Time was another big constraint we had to balance speed with quality and cut down on features. Finally, coming up with a creative yet feasible idea was difficult, but it pushed us to think critically and refine our scope. These challenges taught us resilience, adaptability, and the importance of teamwork under pressure.
Accomplishment
We’re proud that we turned a challenging idea into a working prototype in such a short time. Setting up the backend and integrating it with the frontend was a big win, and we managed to deliver a demo that shows real potential. Beyond the technical side, we’re proud of how we collaborated, adapted to obstacles, and grew as a team. This hackathon proved that with creativity and teamwork, we can achieve more than we thought possible.
What we learned
We learned how to transform ideas into prototypes quickly, collaborate effectively under pressure, and adapt when things didn’t go as planned. Beyond technical skills, we grew as a team improving communication, problem-solving, and resilience. This experience showed us how creativity and collaboration can turn constraints into innovation.
Whats next
Next, we plan to refine the prototype, run user testing to validate our idea, and explore scaling it for real-world use. Longer term, we’d like to open-source parts of the project and potentially collaborate with industry partners to bring it to a wider audience.
