Inspiration

We took inspiration from the classic game Duck Hunt as a prototype to try out VR capabilities back in the day when VR was still new. Our initial implementation was limited as we were still exploring the Meta Horizon Worlds platform.

What it does

The game is a stationary shooter where the player frantically defends himself from the flying ducks.

How we built it

We built the original in Unity but now are porting it to Meta Horizon Worlds and want to make it part of the Meta Horizon Worlds ecosystem.

Challenges we ran into

Learning the whole Meta Horizon Worlds platform and adjusting our project to work in it and be used cross platform.

Accomplishments

We expanded the user experience over the initial version that was available. We also added multiplayer to the experience and have shareable moments with your peers.

What's next for Duckpocalypse

Polishing and finally adding new content to an old project that we all loved. Adding upgrades to the base building with more guns and buildings. On top of that we plan to add achievements and eventually including monetization.
