Inspiration

Reading aloud when studying is much more effective than silent reading. The Science is clear. Yet, there is no tool out there to help students read their materials out loud. Commonly referred to as the "rubber duck debugging" technique, we strive to create a AI-powered tool to help students read their material out loud.

What it does

Listens to students reading out loud. Critiques it, and gives the student feedback on how to improve.

How we built it

With React (Next.js) with TailwindCSS, PostgreSQL (Supabase) for database and Supabase Auth, Cerebras as the LLM hosting service.

Challenges we ran into

  • LLMs are not free
  • Learning the skills needed to build DuckIt

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Main objectives are met. DuckIt is live and working.

What's next for DuckIt

  • RAG system to let user upload millions of tokens
  • Live feedback system

Built With

  • cerebras
  • nextjs
  • react
  • supabase
  • tailwind
