ducking canaries

Ever wished you could get a notification when you get an email from the special someone? or a notification when your home town makes the news? now you can think about more as the hackathon progresses!

In the coal mines people used Canaries as a warning device, because they die quickly when they run out of oxygen! They are an early warning animal; coal miners also kept male and female pairs together because the make more noise if their ducking, and so people could hear them more frequently.

So....the big Idea... its an early warning system for when things happen... Say you want to know when you make the local news, on the web it monitors the web pages of the local news stations , I use the Context.io web hooks to link in to when emails a received that satisfy a connection criteria, say the sender is from a news channel.

If we get a message then we, contact you using the method advise... sms, or email, or a duck flying overhead with a tiny banner!

or think if your an Earthquake specialist, set it monitor the web and your email, and be notified as soon as millions of people have been crushed to death! you'll know!

Or perhaps you are really boring.... your going to a conference and you want to know whether the speakers are doing anything fun, with my app, subscribe to the newsgroups, so gmail will get your email, and wait while this app watches your account and you know if the speaker is a silent pink whale, or a loud genie, and you will know it ducking canary fast!
