Inspiration

Promoting a more sustainable lifestyle for everyone, via the creation of a scanner website that shows if a food item's production is sustainable.

What it does

Our code opens the camera, and outputs information regarding the product, acquired from an open API.

How we built it

We used a variety of libraries and open access API.

Challenges we ran into

We were unable to turn our code into a website, due to time constraint.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of everything we have learned! We are proud that our idea has transformed into working code that provides useful sustainability information to users.

What we learned

We learned many things, especially how to integrate the camera with code, and process information from APIs.

What's next for Duck Hunters

What's next is to improve our website, and add alternative products when food has a low eco score. Additionally, we want something terminal that can be accessed easily on a phone, as a website or chrome extension. We also want the app to contain more educational information regarding why a product has a low eco score.
