For me, I grew up in the countryside and love exploring around forests, so the idea for this game wasn't too hard to come up with. Me and my friend were talking about frogs and ducks the day before this hackathon, then I saw a frog mug. I'm also in the middle of a duck crochet project, so it was really meant to be haha

It's a simple exploring challenge game. By completing zones, you unlock more and more, and can find hidden sections of the map and maybe learn more about Duck and Frog

I used Unity, taking a lot of advice from Unity forums and C sharp websites, using some generative AI for when I was really stuck and couldn't find any similar examples.

This is the first time I have ever coded in C sharp or Unity, so it was a massive learning curve, a few late night restarts. I decided a few hours in that I wanted to change to 2D rendering instead of 3D after spending 2 hours trying to build a hill, and I found that did help as it was simpler to design the terrain.

Figuring out how to make doorways between scenes was something I was super happy about, I still haven't figured out how to do specific spawn points for specific doors, but when that day comes I will throw a party in my honour

Learned loads of C sharp code, how to use Unity and more about game developing. I honestly had a blast at this event, and look forward to next years, where I hope to learn way more.

For future growth, I want to focus on Map development. Time of me writing this, there is just one level, and I'd like to have a bunch more plus hidden areas and zones. More challenges and puzzles and collectibles in store :)
