Since we have been able to show a proof of concept, I believe next we can make it a reality. I have two proposals, firstly, a home camera, connected to a Raspberry Pi. This would interact with a rewritten, more efficient web application, that uses an actual database. My second proposal is to create a Raspberry Pi, wearable camera, that does not rely on internet connection. This would involve having facial recognition APIs locally, and a storage point for images, which could be problematic, unless we can find an always connected internet solution. Anyways, I think an at home device would be best and easiest to implement first, but a wearable device would be a better device to develop.
