We are inspired to use the latest ML technology to improve our website performance. Our motivation is to provide a better experience for new participants who wish to learn data science and machine learning.

What it does

Workshop recommending based on user data, search box based on queries, and visualization by Tableau.

How we built it

We used python to preprocess data and predict results based on machine learning algorithms. We also applied Tableau for our visualization and then displayed the visualization on our team web page.

Challenges we ran into

Scraping data from scraping-unfriendly websites is an obstacle for us to collect data. Preprocessing high dimensional data. Debugging and fine-tuning the parameters is another challenge we had.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learned to work as a team and fine-tuned our search engine from 0% to 95% accuracy. We were able to grasp new concepts by attending workshops and doing web research.

What we learned

For the search engine, we learned how to scrape data from the Internet and preprocess the data for analysis. For recommending workshops, we learned how to transform data into a format that fits into the training model. Also, we learn how to choose the function to train our data.

What's next for Workshop for You

The deployment of our web page and the improvement of our interface design for future hackathons/datathons.
