Inspiration

Whenever I wanted to download a new game, I always had to uninstall some of my older games to make more space. One day, when I was using my friend's laptop, I noticed he had too much space left. And then it struck me, what if, instead of deleting files, why don't I use the extra space on my friend's laptop. Just imagining how much storage we can create after combining all the excess space of every person in the world showed me how much potential the small idea I had at that point of time had. Hence, me and my friends started working on this project.

What it does

Our project relies on the principle of decentralization where any computer connected to the internet can join and form a network, thereby maximizing resource utilization. This can be achieved through the means of Blockchain, which is being deployed more than ever in today’s world. Blockchain has been successful in its quest to world domination thus far owing to the security it provides as a distributed peer to peer system where each node stores a copy of the data table, making it close to impossible for a data breach. This is implemented in our system where the data stored on the network is scattered throughout the registered nodes, i.e., the storage providers. Our system enables storage providers to rent their excess storage for those that need another storage option, which is highly secure as a result of decentralization, because of blockchain.

How we built it

We have just started researching on our project and learning how to use blockchain.
