AI Commons: a world for understanding AI by living inside its rules
DSG Spacetime Agent World is a Meta VR adaptation of the DSG governed-agent runtime. The competition experience is centered on AI Commons, a procedural XR world designed to make the relationship between people and AI understandable without presenting AI as an oracle, ruler, or black box.
The central principle is:
AI proposes. People choose. Evidence makes changes real.
Visitors enter a spatial commons built around one visible governance path:
GOAL → PROPOSAL → POLICY → APPROVAL → EXECUTION → EVIDENCE → WORLD
Nothing in the experience is allowed to visually jump from an AI idea directly to a claimed real-world change.
What visitors learn by moving through the world
AI Commons has six surrounding learning spaces:
- Understand — AI is not an oracle. A model predicts and proposes; usefulness does not mean infallibility.
- Unknown — not knowing is allowed. Uncertainty stays visible instead of being replaced with invented certainty.
- Consent — people keep authority. High-impact actions can stop at an explicit approval gate.
- Evidence — results before claims. A successful response is not automatically proof that an external effect happened.
- Repair — mistakes must be repairable. Failure history and recovery matter more than pretending perfection.
- Commons — build with, not over. Human choice, meaning, and collaboration remain part of the system.
The educational zones are explicitly labeled LOCAL EDUCATION MODE. They change presentation only and do not fabricate backend execution, approval, or evidence.
Hands-first by design
The client uses generic Unity XR tracking for the visitor rig. Touch interactions are accepted only from XR devices that report actual HandTracking characteristics; controller-only input is not treated as hand proof. Head and hand tracking share one XR visitor space.
This is a code-level hands-first path. Actual Quest/XR runtime evidence remains a required gate before the final competition submission.
Real governed action
A separate TRY A REAL GOVERNED ACTION pedestal goes through the existing DSG Spacetime bridge. Its visible states are intentionally strict:
- no live bridge → BLOCKED
- approval required → WAITING FOR HUMAN APPROVAL
- rejected or policy-blocked → BLOCKED
- runtime/transport failure → FAILED
- response without evidence → UNVERIFIED
- only a receipt carrying evidence may be represented as VERIFIED
The XR client and AI model never become execution authorities. Spacetime remains the policy, approval, execution, and evidence boundary.

Competition truth boundary
The underlying DSG runtime predates the competition window. The Meta XR client, AI Commons world, hands-first interaction layer, XR intent/approval bridge, Unity build/evidence pipeline, and competition-specific experience are the adapted/significantly updated competition work.
Current proven path:
exact source → Unity compile/build → APK → full build-evidence verification = PASS
Remaining runtime path:
hands-first Quest/XR runtime → governed action → live evidence → visible world-state change → Meta Competition release channel + judge Invite URL = OPEN
No step is marked complete from architecture or screenshots alone.
