Inspiration

Many students struggle to understand Data Structures and Algorithms because explanations are often too complex. We wanted to create a simple AI-powered instructor that can explain DSA concepts in an easy and interactive way using the Gemini API.

What it does

DSA Instructor AI is an AI-powered coding assistant that helps users learn Data Structures and Algorithms. Users can ask coding or DSA-related questions and receive clear explanations, logic breakdowns, and concept guidance instantly.

How we built it

We built the frontend using HTML, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript for a modern and responsive UI. The backend was developed using Node.js and Express.js. We integrated the Gemini API to generate AI-powered responses for coding and DSA questions.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was configuring the Gemini API correctly and handling API quota/model issues. We also worked on improving frontend-backend communication and making the UI cleaner and more user-friendly

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a working AI-powered DSA learning assistant with a professional interface. We also improved the project structure, added better response formatting, and integrated real-time AI interaction.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate AI APIs into full-stack applications, manage backend APIs using Express.js, improve UI/UX design, and debug real-world integration issues.

What's next for DSA Instructor AI

In the future, we plan to add chat history, syntax highlighting, authentication, multiple learning modes, voice support, and deployment for public access.
