Inspiration

What does the iPhone Duo do? It folds. You know what else folds? A Nintendo DS, of course!

What it does

Play your favorite Nintendo DS games from your iPhone Duo.

How I built it

I used Claude Code (Opus 5.5) + Codex (Astra, mostly for UI work) in the CLI.

I used external libraries for the Nintendo DS emulation itself: melonDS (which emulates the console itself) and DeltaCore (which manages I/O and save states).

Challenges I ran into

  • Getting the UI (visual design, animations…) to look good
  • Getting the models to agree to do this project 😁

Accomplishments that I’m proud of

It looks super cool! I just wish I had an iPhone Duo so that I could use it for real

What I learned

It was a fun project that involved juggling a lot of UI tasks in parallel.

What's next for DS Store

I’d love to publish this app to the App Store, and let users import their own games instead of bundling the ROMs at build time.
