PeaceSpeaker

Rehearse the hard conversations that prevent conflict — before the stakes are real.

Description

The problem

The hardest conversations — giving tough feedback, saying no to your boss, setting a boundary with a friend — are also the ones people practice least. There's no safe place to rehearse them. The stakes are real, so people wing it. And the conversations we avoid don't disappear: they become stress, resentment, and conflict — burnout at work, rifts in families, friendships that quietly end.

The solution

PeaceSpeaker is an AI rehearsal studio for any hard conversation. Role-play it live against a realistic AI persona that pushes back the way the real person would, get scored coaching feedback, retry, and watch your skill levels rise before you have the actual conversation.

How it works

  1. Pick a scenario — choose from 17 curated hard conversations (work, friends, family, money, housing) or describe your own and let the generator build a briefing, persona, opener, and goal in seconds.
  2. Rehearse — the persona greets you in character, stays in role, probes when you're vague, and doesn't cave easily. Speak your lines (mic) or type them.
  3. Get scored feedback — graded 1–5 on clarity, directness, empathy, firmness, and next step, with strengths, one thing to try, a model response, and phrases you can use next time.
  4. Get better — five skill levels per dimension (Foundational → Commanding), a confidence meter, per-scenario mastery, and badges. No streaks, no guilt.

Why it works

  • Personas that push back: 8 personas × 2 difficulty tiers, built on real frameworks (SBI, DESC, Radical Candor, NVC). Hostile counterparts make you work for every inch.
  • Live feedback as you type: every line is read in real time — clear, vague, hedging, firm.
  • In-the-moment coaching: stuck mid-rehearsal? Ask the coach or grab an AI suggestion chip.
  • Voice mode: the persona speaks, and you can answer out loud. Typing always works as a fallback.
  • Local-first and private: everything is stored on-device SQLite. No account, no cloud, no tracking.

Monetization (RevenueCat)

  • Free: 6 preset scenarios, standard difficulty, basic feedback.
  • Pro ($6.99/mo or $49.99/yr): full 17-scenario library, scenario generator, hard mode, in-the-moment coach nudges, detailed coaching notes + model responses.
  • RevenueCat powers the paywall, restore, and customer center via Play Billing. A promo code unlocks Pro for judges — try the whole product without paying.

Tech stack

Expo SDK 57 (React Native + TypeScript) · xAI (Grok) for persona role-play and feedback via a Supabase Edge Function proxy (key stays server-side) · expo-sqlite local-first storage · expo-speech + expo-speech-recognition for voice · RevenueCat SDK with Play Billing for subscriptions.

Influencer Award — Career Coaching: Leadership Heather

An app that helps new managers practise difficult workplace conversations before the stakes are real — realistic scenarios, useful feedback, confidence-building experiences, and active practice with feedback, boundaries, and saying no.

PeaceSpeaker was built for exactly this. 11 workplace scenarios map to real frameworks new managers are trained on — SBI and DESC for corrective feedback, Radical Candor for candid conversations, NVC for conflict — so practice transfers to the job. 8 personas (Defensive Dave, Quiet Qiana, Burned-out Marcus, Pushy Priya…) push back like real reports do, and a hostile tier makes you work for every inch. Scored coaching feedback grades every rehearsal 1–5 on clarity, directness, empathy, firmness, and next step — with a model response and phrases to use next time. Confidence-building is built in: five skill levels per dimension, a confidence meter, per-scenario mastery, and badges, so new managers can see themselves get measurably better before the real conversation.

RevenueCat Peace Prize

The project that provides the greatest social good — big benefits to communities or society at large.

PeaceSpeaker is conflict prevention. The conversations people avoid become stress, resentment, and blowups — burnout at work, rifts in families, friendships that quietly end. By making it safe and private to practice (no account, no cloud, data on-device), PeaceSpeaker turns avoided conversations into practiced ones: more empathy, clearer boundaries, and fewer misunderstandings in workplaces, families, and friendships. A missed boundary practiced in private is a conflict that never happens in public.
