It all started on hackathon day, over a quick breakfast of idli & dosa. As we fueled up, a cement mixer truck rumbled past, its drum rolling continuously.

That’s when it hit us.

A cement mixer ensures cement stays fresh and usable by continuously mixing it. If it stops? The cement hardens, making it useless.

Sales teams face a similar challenge. ⏳ A delayed response? A lost deal. ❄️ A lead left waiting? They go cold.

We realized: Product demos should always be rolling—just like that cement mixer.

That’s how Drumroll AI was born—an AI-powered video agent that keeps prospects engaged, answers their questions instantly, and ensures leads never “harden” and go cold

What it does

Drumroll AI is a 24/7 AI-powered video agent that transforms product discovery and sales. Instead of static demos or delayed sales calls, Drumroll provides:

How we built it

Frontend: Next.js Backend: Django AI Model: Mistral for text embeddings, ElevenLabs & Deepgram for voice and speech processing Analytics: PostHog for tracking engagement and optimizing conversions

Challenges we ran into

1. TTS and STT conversion in realtime. We used websockets to capture user voice input and detect the intent to point user to the correct part of the demo. We faced challenges with correctly matching the intent.

What we learned

Buyers want instant answers – 81% of B2B buyers prefer exploring products without waiting for sales reps. Speed is everything – Even a 5-second delay can kill engagement. AI needs to feel human – Personalization is key to conversion.
