Inspiration
I got the inspiration at my university, i.e. Politecnico di Torino. The campus suffered of overcrowding before Covid-19 epidemia. I think that during the next phases It will be important monitor people and how they behave.
What it does
It count people anonymously and it's able to track the distance between two or more people.
How I built it
We have developed two products, the first one is built with a Raspberry Pi and it acts like a sniffer. We then coded it with an algorithm written in Python to increase the accuracy of the counter. The second one is a radar that uses mm-waves to monitor the social distance of people.
Challenges I ran into
The time management, I think that it's crucial keep the studies ongoing while I'm developing my own idea.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We established a partnership with the Torino City Lab, the smart city laboratory of Turin and an important supermarket chain asked us the product as soon as possibile.
What I learned
To well manage my time, to work with an awesome team.
