Inspiration
Knowing that there are marginalized groups out in Korea, who face hardships, stigma, and pity. Including but not limited to the homeless, underprivileged minors, and foreigners.
What it does
Allow for asynchronous donations in the form of geocaches and for groups in need to pickup anonymously.
How we built it
We built it using Github, Django, Supabase, NextJS and Render.
Challenges we ran into
Order of Operations and how the process of donations would work, How to handle bad actors and how to discourage them Working with a separate backend and frontend What features would have the most impact and should be prioritized
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successful deployments of separate backend and frontend on render. Responsive Design that looks great on mobile Working together as a team when it was the first time meeting for most of us Diverse background and team with a vision to help diverse people
What we learned
Building is hard with a 24 hour time limit, unfamiliar team, and minimal resources but hard work, coordination, and collaboration made it possible
What's next for Dropheart
Reaching out to NGOs Reporting Bad Actors Social Media Integration i18n and a11y Requests as Feedback Donation Visualizations
