Inspiration: We were inspired by websites like Freerice, where playing games helps people in need. We felt deeply about the global water crisis. So, we created "Drop of Hope" to turn learning into a way of giving back. Our idea was to make a fun trivia game that, for every perfect quiz, we donate clean water to areas of need. We wanted to merge having fun and helping others in a simple and meaningful way.
Game Description: "Drop of Hope" is a fun game where you answer trivia questions. For each correct answer, we donate a litre of clean water to places that don't have it. The game covers different topics, and players can test their knowledge while making a difference. It's a simple yet impactful way of learning and contributing to a good cause.
How we built it: We made the game using CSS, JavaScript, and HTML. We focused on making it easy to play and visually appealing. Our aim was to create an enjoyable experience for players while keeping the charitable aspect straightforward and accessible.
Challenges we ran into: During our work, we faced challenges in making the game user-friendly and ensuring the donations system worked smoothly. Overcoming these challenges helped us make the game better and more enjoyable for everyone.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We're proud of creating a game that's not only fun but also helps people and educates players. Seeing players enjoy the game and knowing that their answers are making a difference is a great achievement for us.
What we learned: While making the game, we learned how to make a straightforward and engaging user interface. We also learned about the importance of teamwork and how even small efforts can lead to something meaningful.
What's next for Drop of Hope: In the future, we plan to add more questions on various topics to the game. We want to make the game more interactive and share the impact stories with players. Our goal is to keep it simple and enjoyable while making a positive change in the world.
