Drone Swarm Search and Rescue

Inspiration

In an emergency search and rescue situation, e.g. in the ocean with the coastguard, it's critical to find people quickly so that the coastguard can get to them as soon as possible. Instead of sending a single search helicopter, as would often normally be done, it could be a lot more efficient to use a swarm of drones to search an area. The drones would find the person a lot faster, and would also be able to keep tracking the person once they are found.

What it does

Uses drone swarm algorithms to efficiently search for a person in a given area.

How we built it

We used pygame to build a simulation of a person in the water, showing how the drones would move to find them.
