Inspiration
I've submitted another submission for Driver's insights, but I felt that this was materially different enough to make another submission for Post Event Analysis. This is a proof of concept where you take all drivers from the series (in real life probably more like all drivers from a specific team) and combine all lap-times to create a "Super lap" of theoretical best. I tested this to see if there is a different from the pole and was suprised when just using 3 sectors that we could find as much as 8/10ths of a second of time still available to find on track.
This experiment allowed me to recognize that even at the pro level where milliseconds separate these drivers that there is still a large amount of time to be found on track when looking at a larger dataset.
How to use:
Go to http://www.racecarpro.com and go to Theoretical Best in Top Menu. Select any race but Sebring 1, and and see what the theoretical best is compared to the Pole. Choose Generate AI Coaching to provide insights to the drivers on what can be done to achieve the TBL.
