Inspiration Every day, drivers face the challenge of managing their shifts, tracking earnings, and staying updated on essential information—all while on the move. We wanted to create a seamless, mobile-first dashboard that makes a driver’s daily routine easier, safer, and more productive.

What It Does DriveMate is an all-in-one dashboard for professional drivers. Instantly view your weekly pay, daily hours, and company announcements. With just a tap, you can find nearby essentials like toilets, raincoat stores, fuel stations, and EV chargers. For privacy, downloading your official payslip PDF always requires your consent. Everything is streamlined for efficiency, security, and ease of use on any device.

How We Built It DriveMate is built with modern web technologies:

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a responsive, app-like experience. jsPDF for instant PDF generation of payslips, right in your browser. All location links are integrated with Google Maps for seamless navigation. The design is mobile-first, ensuring a smooth experience for drivers on any screen. Challenges We Ran Into Ensuring links to nearby essentials always work reliably across all devices and browsers. Creating a secure and intuitive consent flow before downloading sensitive documents like payslips. Delivering a polished design that remains fast and user-friendly, even on low-end devices. Accomplishments That We're Proud Of A clean, intuitive UI that drivers can use with one hand on the go. Fully offline PDF generation for payslips, keeping user data private. Accessibility features like keyboard navigation and screen-reader friendly modals. Quick, direct access to critical locations with just a tap. What We Learned Small UX touches—like asking for consent before downloads—make a big impact on user trust. Responsive web design is essential for a workforce that’s always on the move. Real user feedback from drivers is invaluable for prioritizing features and improvements. What's Next for DriveMate Integrating push notifications for urgent announcements and shift reminders. Adding real-time shift tracking and live earnings calculations. Expanding the essentials map to include rest stops, repair shops, and cafes. Launching a companion app for iOS and Android, and building out driver communities.
