DripDrop-Outfit of Today App

Inspiration

I had a hard time constantly trying to make outfits or get outfit inspiration from apps like Pinterest and Tiktok. Every outfit looked amazing, but it hardly ever matched my actual style, body type, or the weather where I live. I asked some peers and they said it wasn't just me that faced these difficulties but anyone who tries to find good outfit inspiration. So I created this app to make fashion feel more personalized and effortless, especially for people who love style but don't want to spend hours figuring out what to wear.

What it does

My app-DripMyDrop, assists users build their outfits by recommending looks based on their personal style, color palette, body type, weather, and location. If they're stuck on how to style a certain piece, they can upload it and get outfit ideas instantly.

How we built it

I used the app, Bolt.new.

Challenges we ran into

There were some difficulties in coding the app since there were some errors on making it. Sometimes when I asked for different colors, options, etc, they wouldn't provide exactly what I asked for. The Bolt app requires tokens if you run out so I had to do a few side quests to get free tokens.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I was able to create the app and it looks pretty decent. I like the yellow and white atmosphere on it. I also like the way the home page looks a bit similar to Instagram and other apps at the same time. I also like how there were hashtags for what style or body type the person had.

What we learned

I learned how important personalization is when it comes to fashion. Everybody has a different style, body, preference, lifestyle, and there isn't any no one-size-fits-all solution. I also learned how to break a big idea into features that actually solve real problems. And finally, I realized how much I enjoy creating tools that make everyday decisions easier for people.

What's next for DripDrop-Outfit of Today App

I plan to add it to all the public app stores if this app becomes successful. However I'm currently still in school so I'm not too sure about the plans for the future.
