Inspiration

College life is fast-paced and messy, and students often waste time deciding what to wear or dealing with unorganized closets. Many people have good clothes but struggle to create good outfit combinations. We wanted to solve this everyday problem by building a simple AI-powered tool that helps students style their outfits quickly while also making the process fun and interactive.

What it does

DripCheck is an AI-powered styling assistant that helps users organize and evaluate their outfits. Users can upload images of their clothing to create a digital wardrobe. The platform analyzes outfit combinations and provides ratings along with style suggestions. It also includes a fun “Roast Mode” that humorously critiques bad outfits. Additionally, users can explore Pinterest-inspired outfit ideas based on their clothing items.

How we built it

We built DripCheck using Streamlit for the user interface to create a simple and interactive web application. Image inputs are processed to evaluate outfit combinations, and the results are displayed with ratings and feedback. The system also integrates quick links to Pinterest for style inspiration. The focus was on building a lightweight, fast, and user-friendly platform that students can easily use.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing a system that could evaluate outfit combinations in a meaningful way. Another challenge was organizing uploaded clothing images into a usable digital closet while keeping the interface simple. Balancing functionality with a clean and intuitive UI was also an important challenge during development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a working platform that allows users to upload clothing images, receive outfit ratings, and manage a digital wardrobe. The addition of the Roast Mode made the project more engaging and fun for users. We also managed to create a simple but effective UI that demonstrates the concept clearly.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to design user-focused solutions using AI and how to build interactive applications quickly using Streamlit. We also gained experience in integrating external inspiration sources like Pinterest and designing features that balance utility with entertainment.

What's next for dripCHECK

In the future, we plan to expand DripCheck with smarter features such as weather-based outfit recommendations, a laundry scheduler with reminders, and improved AI styling analysis. We also aim to enhance the UI, add better wardrobe management tools, and potentially introduce community features where users can share outfit ideas and trends.
