Inspiration

Our looks are a portion of our personality. While you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, one of the first things a person will notice about you is the way you look. Our goal is to provide you with advice and recommendations that help bring out your intended personal style and personality in the best way possible, allowing you to display yourself with pride and confidence.

What it does

Our tool takes a picture of you, along with a description of your desired style and the nature of event you're going to, and provides you with personalized advice and recommendations to your fit to help you display the best version of your personal style. Whether your going to a party, a casual hangout, or a job interview, Dripbot will provide you with expert tips on how to improve your outfit such as recommendations on color coordination, event appropriateness, and overall cohesion. And, if there's a gap in your wardrobe that needs to be filled, Dripbot will recommend (optionally budgeted) clothing pieces from retail stores near you.

How we built it

A skeleton for the project was developed using v0, and was then further developed into our project. We manually added tailwind css styling and created react components to better flesh out our project. As for the LLM integrations, we created a schema for JSON object generation as input to our UI.

Challenges we ran into

We had a bit of issues with the tailwind set up. We also struggled since Cohere's typescript API didn't accept images, so we had to find a workaround: using vercel-ai-skd.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We initially struggles to find an idea, so we ended up a whole day behind the competition. But we ended up locking in, implementing different idea generation techniques to finally come up with this idea. We then managed to fully develop, conceptualize, and flesh out the project within a shortened timeframe.

What we learned

What's next for Dripbot

We hope to turn Dripbot into your complete style manager. Currently, Dripbot is limited to providing advice about clothing, but eventually we hope to be able to provide tips on hair styling, accessories, footwear, and other clothing accessories. Additionally, we want to avoid overgeneralized recommendations, and recommendations based on popular short-lived trends. Our aim is to have Dripbot to turn you into the best version of you, and express yourself with confidence. To achieve that, we additionally hope to implement a feedback system that will allow you to train Dripbot to understanding your style.

We also want to implement an additional feature whereby Dripbot will augment your uploaded photo with how you'll look after implementing it's recommendations, this allowing you to visualize what you're being advised to do.
