Inspiration

Fashion is social, but most fashion apps aren't. We constantly ask friends what to wear, where they got something, or how to coordinate for an event. We built Drip to bring friends, fashion, and AI together in one place.

What it does

Drip is an AI-powered social fashion app. Users can share outfits, build virtual closets, discover and have agents buy the exact clothing from friends' posts, search for similar products, get feedback through Drip Check, and use AI to coordinate outfits and create mood boards with friends.

How we built it

We built Drip natively in SwiftUI. We integrated Muse Spark and Muse Image through Meta's Model API for outfit understanding, product discovery, group outfit planning, and image generation. We also use Apple Vision and Foundation Models for on-device intelligence.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was connecting multiple AI systems into one fast, seamless experience. Different AI models have a variety of parameters, input formats, and capabilities, so getting them to work together consistently required significant testing and iteration. Another major challenge was accurately detecting and cropping individual clothing pieces from outfit photos, then using those pieces to find exact or visually similar product matches online.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that Drip feels like a complete social fashion experience rather than just an app with AI added on top. We were able to bring together outfit recognition, product discovery, virtual closets, friend interactions, group outfit coordination, and AI-generated mood boards into one seamless experience. Most importantly, we built something that we would genuinely want to use with our own friends and could see almost the entire next generation of the world using.

What we learned

We learned a lot about both the technical and collaborative sides of building a product from scratch. Beyond integrating multimodal AI models and combining cloud and on-device intelligence in a native iOS app, we learned how important the brainstorming and design process is before jumping into development. Throughout the project, we constantly refined our ideas, figured out which features were actually useful, and adjusted the experience based on what worked. Working as a team also taught us how to divide responsibilities, work on different parts of the app in parallel, communicate changes, and ultimately bring everything together into one cohesive product.

What's next for Drip

Our next goal is to turn Drip from a hackathon project into something people genuinely look forward to using every day. We want Drip to seamlessly become part of people's mornings, where they wake up, put together their outfit, post their daily fit, and see what their friends are wearing. We plan to add full user accounts and profiles, build out the backend, publish Drip on the App Store, and start growing a real community around fashion. We also want to introduce personalized outfit recommendations, better exact and similar product matching, shared closets, messaging, and smarter suggestions based on occasions, weather, and dress codes. Ultimately, we want Drip to become a daily social experience where friends discover new styles, share what they are wearing, and inspire each other.
