Inspiration💡

The project draws its inspiration from addressing the growing concern of the Gen Z population's health amidst the rising trend of clubbing and increased alcohol consumption. It aims to promote a holistic sense of well-being, encompassing both physical and mental health. 🌱

This inspiration was sparked by personal observations during visits to pubs, witnessing instances of overdrinking and recognizing the need for a solution that fosters responsible drinking and ensures a safer and healthier social environment. 🍻💡

Recording Your Mood After Drinking 📊: The application allows you to log and track your mood after consuming alcohol, providing a valuable way to reflect and understand your emotional state during social engagements.

Educational Resources📚: Explore a rich repository of educational materials within the app, offering insights into responsible drinking and the effects of alcohol on your body and mind. Knowledge is empowerment! 🧠

Visualizing Mood Changes 📈: Visualize your mood changes over time through interactive graphs that showcase your past and current mood data. Gain valuable insights into how alcohol affects your emotional well-being. 📉

Empowering Responsible Choices💪: The ultimate goal is to actively monitor and encourage responsible alcohol intake, emphasizing the importance of a balanced approach. How we built it❓🧠

The foundation was laid using a combination of React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.💻 Firebase played a pivotal role in both storage and authentication aspects. Kaggle came into play for valuable data points and structured information. For dynamic and illustrative graphs, we harnessed the power of the Chart.js library. Throughout the development journey, GitHub facilitated collaborative efforts 🤝 and the final product found its home on Netlify after seamless deployment. And, of course, we built it with heart! 💖

Challenges we ran into🧗

The challenges we encountered included effectively utilizing JSON data and navigating the integration of Google authentication within Firebase. Making real time graphs turned out to be more complex than we imagined.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🎗️🏆

Development of a functional web app: From conceptualization to implementation, we tackled the various aspects of web development, including frontend design and backend functionality. 💪🎨🔧 Seeing our app come to life and being able to interact with it is a significant accomplishment for our team.

What we learned 👨‍🎓

Through our project we learnt how to effectively integrate google authentication with Firebase. Despite being complex we dedicated time and effort to understand and use it in our project.
Mastery in chart.js: Through this project we learnt how to make various types of real time graphs using chart.js and effectively store and manage user data
We learnt how to effectively divide tasks among the team mates and collaborate effectively with VS Code live sharing and github

What's next for AlcoWell

Enhanced UI/UX: We aim to further refine the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) to make the application even more visually appealing and user-friendly.
Community Interaction Space: Beyond the current features, we intend to expand the community interaction space to create a stronger sense of community and support among users.
Multilingual Support: To reach a wider global audience, we plan to add multilingual support, making AlcoWell accessible to a diverse user base.
