A beverage-first quick-commerce platform engineered to help college students, young professionals, and office teams discover and get craft beverages delivered fresh from nearby partner cafés in ~10–20 minutes.

📌 Overview

Drink It is a beverage-first quick-commerce platform operating on the core philosophy:
"Discover and get the beverage you want, from nearby, when you want it."

Unlike general quick-commerce and food delivery aggregators where drinks are treated as an afterthought—often arriving lukewarm, carbonation-flat, or spilled—Drink It re-engineers discovery, customization, and hyper-local fulfillment specifically for hot and cold beverages.

🎯 Problem Statement

The Temperature & Spill Problem: Traditional grocery and food delivery platforms package fragile, temperature-sensitive beverages alongside heavy hot food or groceries. Cold drinks arrive melted/watered-down, hot chai arrives lukewarm, and spills ruin orders.
Poor Beverage Discovery: Users don't crave "groceries" when hit by an afternoon work slump or late-night exam crunch; they crave a specific sensation (an iced caffeine kick, intense hydration, a sweet dessert shake, or a post-workout raw juice).
High Minimum-Order Friction: Students and interns craving a single ₹99 iced lemon tea or ₹129 cold brew are penalized by ₹300–₹500 minimum-order carts and exorbitant delivery surcharges.
Dispersed Local Cafés: Independent specialty roasters, local juice bars, and artisanal bubble tea houses have high-quality beverages but lack a dedicated instant delivery channel for campuses and office parks.

Drink It introduces a dedicated beverage quick-commerce ecosystem:

Rule-Based "Craving Matcher": Matches user state (Need energy, Studying, Refreshing, Sweet craving, Chilling, Party, Healthy choice) with optimized beverage profiles.
Hyper-Local Radius (<1.5km): Clustered around college dorms, libraries, and corporate campuses to maintain beverage temperature and guarantee ~10–20 minute delivery estimates.
Insulated Thermal Pod Guarantee: Cold drinks held below 5°C with mountain ice intact; hot artisan brews sealed in thermal flasks.
Micro-Order Friendly: Accessible pricing and zero minimum order thresholds tailored to student budgets.

Working Quick-Search: Instant beverage search with direct query handoff to the catalog.

9 distinct beverage categories (Coffee, Tea, Shakes, Juices, Mocktails, Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks, Water, Other Beverages).
Regulated Category Notice: Dedicated educational preview for "Craft & Adult Brews" clearly labeled: "Available only where legally permitted and through licensed partners. No alcohol ordering is active on this prototype."
Dynamic filtering by Category, Price Range Slider (₹60–₹250), Minimum Rating (4.5★+), and Fastest Delivery (≤12m).
Sorting by Recommended, Price: Low to High, Price: High to Low, Rating, and Fastest Delivery.

4. 🎛️ Interactive Product Customization Modal

High-resolution beverage imagery with automatic error-fallback handlers.
Custom serving sizes (Small, Regular, Large (+₹40)).
Ice/Temperature preferences (No Ice, Less Ice, Standard Ice, Extra Chilled).
Sweetness level adjustments (Zero Sugar, Less Sweet 50%, Normal Sweet, Extra Sweet).
Live subtotal calculations with instant Add-to-Cart controls.

Item quantity modifiers (+ / -) and item removal.
Free Delivery Progress Bar: Unlocks free delivery above ₹349.
Promo Coupon Engine: Working promo codes (DRINKIT50 for ₹50 off, FIRSTDRINK for ₹30 off).
Transparent billing breakdown (Item subtotal, Delivery fee, Platform packaging fee, Coupon savings, Grand total).

Recipient contact details and delivery room/desk landmark inputs.
Payment method simulation (UPI / QR Code, Credit/Debit Card, Cash on Delivery).
Celebratory Confetti & Order Confirmation: Generates a unique order ID (e.g., #DRK-8492).

💻 How to Run Locally

Prerequisites

Steps

Clone or open the repository:

⚠️ Prototype Limitations

This application is an educational prototype built for entrepreneurship evaluation:

Mock Product Data: All cafés, prices, ratings, and preparation times are simulated.
No Real Payment Gateway: Checkout uses simulated payment authorization without charging real currency.
No Real Delivery Logistics: No actual couriers or GPS fleets are dispatched; the tracker is a state simulation tool.
No Real Alcohol Sales: Regulated drinks are included solely as an educational preview with explicit compliance notices.
No Production Backend: Data is managed on the client-side with localStorage persistence.
