Inspiration
API changes can silently break applications that depend on older data structures. Developers need a simpler way to identify schema drift, understand compatibility risks, and handle changes before deployment.
What it does
DriftShield AI is a developer-focused tool that compares legacy and incoming JSON API payloads, detects schema differences, highlights compatibility risks, generates TypeScript compatibility adapters, and provides a verification suite for testing compatibility.
How we built it
We built a browser-based interface with a dual-payload workstation, drift analysis, TypeScript adapter generation, and a compatibility verification suite. The workflow helps developers move from comparing payloads to reviewing changes and testing adapter behavior.
Challenges we faced
A key challenge was presenting schema differences clearly while preserving compatibility with existing payload structures. We also focused on making the analysis, adapter generation, and verification stages work together in one understandable workflow.
What's next
We aim to improve schema analysis, expand compatibility checks, support more API payload patterns, and make DriftShield AI an even more useful part of the developer workflow.
