Inspiration
Our goal was to create something simple yet effective—a tool that encourages focus and productivity without overwhelming the user. We believe the Pomodoro Technique, with its proven method of working in timed intervals, was the perfect solution. By combining this timeless technique with modern design and interactive features, we aimed to build a tool that not only helps users stay productive but also makes the process more engaging. Drift n' Do was born out of the desire to streamline productivity while keeping things light and motivating.
What it does
Built with React, this web app combines the time-tested Pomodoro technique with a modern, interactive interface. Whether you're working on a big project or studying for an exam, Drift n' Do helps you stay on track with customizable timer settings and engaging visuals. The app’s user-friendly design makes it easy to start and track your work intervals, while fun, animated elements add a touch of personality to your productivity. Say goodbye to distractions and hello to your most productive self with Drift n' Do.
How we built it
We built the UI using Figma and transformed our idea into code with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into multiple errors throughout the process especially with adding more designs, pages, and buttons to our website. However, the strategic use of AI and Chat GPT helped overcome the obstacles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of being able to make our design into a real website. This was our first time using React Native and we are proud of the progress we made in 24 hours.
What we learned
We learned how to use github and collaborate using it. Additionally, we learned the basics of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS through this project.
What's next for Drift n' Do
We want to add the following:
- Continue 5 - minute timer for breaks
- Wellness popups during breaks (reminders to drink water or stretch)
- Animate other side icons
- Ocean sound for enhanced calming effect
- Progress bar/ring animation
