Inspiration

We grew up playing 2000s dress-up games and wanted to bring that same nostalgic joy to Snapchat — but in a way that feels modern, social, and competitive. Nothing feels more native to Snap than Bitmoji and friendly challenges.

What it does

Dress Me Up is a fast, turn-based Bitmoji fashion game. You get a random theme, style your Bitmoji, and send it to a friend who has to guess the look before the timer runs out.

How we built it

We built it using Lens Studio’s Turn-Based Template, reworked into a two-phase system — styling and guessing. We added a random theme generator, countdown timers, shared data sync, and a custom scrollable UI tray for outfit selection.

Challenges we ran into

Syncing game data between players was tricky — especially keeping themes, timers, and scores consistent. Building a lightweight, responsive UI that still felt nostalgic and “Snap-native” also took a lot of iteration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a playable, competitive game that feels like it truly belongs on Snapchat. It’s fast, fun, and social — and we managed to merge nostalgia with modern AR gameplay in just a few days.

What we learned

We learned how to push the limits of Lens Studio’s turn-based system, balance design and performance, and create something that’s both technically challenging and emotionally familiar.

What's next for Dress Me Up

We’d love to make Bitmojis animated and more expressive, add detailed outfit options, and explore brand collaborations to bring in monetization opportunities and themed challenges.
